Novi Sad – Marija Vasić, a sociology teacher and vice-president of the Association of Anti-Fascists of Vojvodina, announced today that yesterday in her neighborhood, on the facade of the building in front of which the bus is waiting, threatening graffiti appeared aimed at her.

“While I was at work yesterday afternoon, teaching the Holocaust and dealing with anti-Semitism, someone was dealing with me. “Shoot, I’m still teaching class,” Vasić wrote on her Facebook profile.

She shared photos showing two walls of the same building, on one side of which spray paint was written: “Not even 15 thousand dead children are enough for Marija Vasić to cover her ears!!!”, “Did Marija lie down?”.

On another wall it was written “Because of the dead children in Gaza, the ‘anti-fascist’ did not scream on the Mossad payroll!” and again “Did Maria get paid?”

For the Beta agency, Vasić confirmed that everything was immediately reported to the police, as well as that someone erased the graffiti after two hours.

“The prosecutor said that there are no elements of a criminal offense. And there are no cameras in Fruškogorska either,” she stated.

“You won’t stop me or scare me,” she added briefly.

Marija Vasić, who is also the vice-president of the Novi Sad board Zajedno!, recalled that immediately after the start of the war in Gaza, in October, she received threats via Facebook, which she also reported.

Vasić deals with the culture of memory about the Holocaust, and she published two books about the Novi Sad raid: “When God Turns a Blind Eye” and “Letter on the Rails”.
