Germany – Jewish memorial column in Babenhausen smeared with paint

Babenhausen – A monument in memory of the former Jewish community in Babenhausen (Darmstadt-Dieburg district) was smeared with red paint over a large area on Monday night.

The white stele made of Carrara marble with the large Star of David at the top and the clearly visible menorah was erected by the city in 1988. It marks the spot where a Jewish ritual bath, a mikvah, once stood.
