Darmstädter – In the middle of March, the memorial plaque honoring Jews and Gypsies who settled in German-speaking countries was returned to its place. The monument had been renovated at the cost of 41,000 euros, which was largely funded by donations. Now it has been destroyed again. The city filed a complaint with the police.
“The repeated acts of vandalism targeting this memorial plaque posted at the frieght train station makes me very sad, and also is a reason to worry,“ said Jochen Partsch, the mayor. He visited the frieght train station after learning about the vandalism.
