Germany – Antisemitic attack in front of a synagogue in Munich

Munich – A man was attacked and made antisemitic insults in front of a synagogue in Munich. As the police announced on Tuesday, the 43-year-old Jew wanted to break up a dispute between two 17-year-olds who were shouting at each other in front of the Ohel Jakob Synagogue.

The young people’s aggression was then directed against the man, whose religious affiliation could not be visually recognized.

According to the police, one of the teenagers hit the 43-year-old in the head with a crutch. The other also struck and insulted the man with an antisemitic insult. The 43-year-old was taken to hospital with minor injuries after the incident on Friday evening.

The 17-year-olds were charged with grievous bodily harm and insults. One of them was taken into custody overnight. The criminal investigation department for state security crimes took over the investigation.
