Arcata, CA – Police are currently investigating what they are calling a hate crime involving an alleged antisemitic poster inside a bathroom at Mad River Community Hospital.
Last Friday, Feb. 2. Arcata police responded to the hospital after reportedly receiving a complaint about the poster. Police say the poster reads, “Butcher Zionist Pigs” and depicts a hooded executioner holding an axe next to a pig dressed in a tuxedo.
The Arcata Police Department (APD) says they are investigating this incident as a hate crime because the messaging calls for violence against national origin. They say investigators are looking into the potential for surveillance footage from within the hospital for try and hold the person, or people, responsible.
