Templin – the plaque commemorating the Jewish community on the city wall next to the Berlin Gate was destroyed. Mayor Detlef Tabbert (Left) has filed a complaint.
The police will secure the crime scene, the economic yard will ensure order, and the city will have the board remade.
After inspecting the memorial site on the city wall through the farm yard, the city fathers suspect that the destruction could not have been caused by frost, but only by brute force. Paving stones between the shards bear witness to this. “We clearly assume vandalism,” said the mayor. He condemns such acts. It is all the more reprehensible because the act testifies to “historical forgetfulness” and cannot be excused by unreason or ignorance. “It annoys me to no end,” says Tabbert.
