A man from Ilford who shouted antisemitic slurs about the Israel-Hamas conflict has been jailed.
Police attended Seven Kings station on November 11 last year following reports that a man had been threatening members of the public.
When they arrived, officers heard 51-year-old Diljan Akhtar shouting antisemitic slurs.
Another member of the public also reported that he was subjected to separate racial abuse by Akhtar outside a nearby restaurant.
Akhtar, of High Road, Ilford was arrested and charged with assault of an emergency worker, using threatening language and two counts of racially aggravated public harassment.
He pleaded guilty to the charges and he appeared at Stratford Magistrates’ Court where he was jailed for 10 weeks.
