Charente-Maritime – Antisemitic graffiti were discovered on the gate of the La Jarne nursery school, in the La Rochelle metropolitan area.
The messages “gas to the Jew” (“gaz au juif”) and “I love Hitler” were tagged on the gate, according to photos obtained by BFMTV from a source close to the investigation.
The inscription was quickly erased by municipal services.
The prefect of Charente-Maritime, Brice Blondel, condemns “with the greatest firmness this antisemitic graffiti and reaffirms the need to respect republican principles and everyone’s beliefs” and wishes to “assure the Jewish community of its support”.
