Giessen – The crew of an ambulance noticed a suspicious man on Ludwigsplatz early on Thursday morning around 3:30 a.m. because he had apparently recently sprayed slogans with a spray can on the surrounding house walls on Ludwigsplatz. The paramedics kept an eye on him and informed the police.

A police patrol found the man on Grünberger Strasse and handed him over to officers from the Gießen Nord police station. There was fresh paint on his hands and he also had spray cans with him. The man had to go to the office. On the way there, the officers discovered graffiti on benches at the Berliner Platz bus stop. These included, among other things, anti-Semitic and police-insulting writing.

After the police measures were completed, the 24-year-old German citizen was released. The investigations into suspected incitement and property damage are being conducted by the State Security Criminal Investigation Department.
