France – Antisemitic graffiti in Tarbes

The author of the tags discovered in the city center of Tarbes was convicted by the courts

Tarbes – “Jewists”, “terrorists”, “Stop Shoah Palestine”. These are the words that have flourished in the city center of Tarbes in recent days.

No less than ten inscriptions of this type have appeared on several walls in downtown Tarbes. The most visible between the tobacco la Civette and the Dominos pizzeria, opposite the Place de Verdun. In the same vein, four or five other tags were spotted in other places on rue Brauhauban. Two or three others then around number 50 rue maréchal Foch, the second part, closer to Place Marcadieu.

Identified, the man, aged 48, was arrested on Wednesday. He explained that he was “not being antisemitic” and simply wanted to “alert the population about the conflict.” »

He also specified that he was the victim of HPE syndrome, for High Emotional Potential, which “pushes him to externalize his emotions”. After his hearing, a psychiatric assessment was carried out, which concluded that he was criminally responsible. He will therefore explain himself very soon before the criminal court.
