Germany – Young man disrupts Holocaust commemoration in Hirschaid

The former synagogue on Nürnberger Strasse

Hirschaid – On the anniversary of Kristallnacht, a young person disrupted a memorial event in Hirschaid by making an antisemitic exclamation. The Bamberg criminal police are looking for the perpetrator and are asking for information from the public.

On November 9th, the mayor of Hirschaid invited people to a memorial event to mark the events of Kristallnacht in 1938. Numerous citizens gathered at the memorial at the former synagogue on Nürnberger Strasse.

During the dignified commemoration, an unpleasant incident occurred. At around 5:15 p.m., a young person approached the event on a moped or moped and shouted an anti-Semitic remark at the people. He then walked away on Nürnberger Straße towards the center of the town.

A citizen then filed a complaint with the Bamberg public prosecutor’s office. They now commissioned the Bamberg criminal police to investigate.
