A shocking image (pictured) of a journalist who was about to be beheaded by an Islamic State terrorist has been sent to two of Australia's major Jewish organisations

A shocking image of a US journalist who was about to be beheaded by an Islamic State terrorist was allegedly sent to two of Australia’s major Jewish organisations.

The photo of James Foley and a hooded terrorist holding a knife was allegedly sent to the Executive Council of Australian Jewry and the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies.

Horrifically, the photo was accompanied by the message: ‘We are coming for you soon, from western Sydney’.

The message has chilling echoes of an email sent to Mr Foley’s parents when their son was murdered in Syria in 2014.

‘We will not stop until we quench our thirst for your blood,’ it read.

The appalling photo and message to the peak Jewish bodies was allegedly sent via Instagram on October 12, days after Hamas terrorists massacred more than 1,400 Israelis in a surprise attack on October 7.

Following a probe by Security Investigation Unit detectives, police arrested a 33-year-old man at the southern Sydney suburb of Wolli Creek on November 1.

He was charged with behaving in an offensive manner in a public place, using a carriage service to threaten to kill, and three counts of using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend, a police spokesperson said.

The man was refused bail in an appearance before Downing Centre Local Court and remanded in custody to next appear on January 10.
