Cavaillon – Stars of David were sprayed on a Cavaillon roundabout during the night from Thursday to Friday, the city announced in a press release.
These inscriptions in white paint were discovered on a decorative wagon installed on the Puits des Gavottes roundabout, at the entrance to the town. They were immediately deleted by municipal services.
“The obscurantist ignominy will never have its place in Cavaillon , protests the mayor, Gérard Daudet. To those who try to take us back to the darkest hours of history, you will find me on your path. Cavaillon, land of resistance and proud to be the cradle of a rich Judeo-Christian heritage, will continue to protect freedom of worship.”
Gérard Daudet announces that he will file a complaint this Monday and calls to join this Sunday afternoon at the rally against anti-Semitism organized in front of the Vaucluse prefecture in Avignon at 3 p.m.
