Berlin – Unidentified people have daubed remains of the Berlin Wall with antisemitic slogans and swastikas. The words “Kill Jews” and five swastikas were discovered on Tuesday afternoon at the “East Side Gallery” in Friedrichshain, the police announced on Wednesday morning. Officials initially covered up the graffiti.
The State Security Office is now investigating charges of incitement to hatred, property damage and the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations.
In the evening hours on Tuesday, the police repeatedly discovered damage to property caused by graffiti in other places in the city and made them unrecognizable.
People sprayed the slogan “Fuck Israel ” on sidewalks and house facades in Neukölln on Tuesday evening . Alerted police officers took some of the perpetrators into custody, established their identities and spray-painted the hate slogans with their own colors.
