France – Neo-Nazi flyers distributed in mailboxes in Maimbeville

Maimbeville – The village of Maimbeville, in Oise, to be the target of antisemitic, racist and anti-LGBT leaflets. Documents distributed to residents’ mailboxes on Saturday October 7. The population is in shock.

They did not expect to receive such mail. Saturday October 7, many residents of the commune of Maimbeville, northeast of Clermont, in Oise, discovered neo-Nazi leaflets in their mailboxes containing swastikas and urging the population to “reestablish the domination of the white race in Europe .

Two types of writings were distributed: “ We received two different leaflets, testifies the mayor of the town, Guillaume Vannier, one calls for racial hatred while the other targets LGBT people. ”

Alerted while he was at the Oise mayors’ congress on Saturday morning, the councilor received numerous calls and messages from residents. “ Everyone was very angry. We can even speak of shock ,” he continues, “it’s traumatic to receive such a letter. ”

Although the document was distributed in the main streets of the village, not all residents received it. Half of the town’s approximately 450 inhabitants. Enough to fuel a “ certain psychosis ” explains a municipal councilor. “ Why did I receive it and not my neighbor? Residents are asking a lot of questions and hypotheses are rife, ” he emphasizes. On the municipality’s Facebook page, a resident explains that she “saw or heard nothing “. Recipient of the mail she asks: “ why some boxes and not others? ”

The municipality filed a complaint. A procedure for public incitement to hatred or violence has been opened and a gendarmerie investigation is underway.
