Germany – Suspect arrested on suspicion of setting fire to the synagogue in Ulm

Almost two years after the arson attack on the synagogue in Ulm, the alleged perpetrator is in custody. The man was arrested last Saturday when entering Stuttgart Airport, the police and public prosecutor announced on Monday.

According to earlier information, the man with a Turkish passport was born in Germany and lived in Ulm. He was identified through images from a surveillance camera. A little later, the public prosecutor announced that the man had travelled to Turkey.

In principle, however, Turkey does not extradite any of its own nationals.
