Berlin – Destruction of the memorial for the destroyed synagogue in Berlin-Spandau: Since 1989, this memorial has stood on the banks of the old town, directly on the Spree at the corner of the Havel, where Rabbi Arthur Löwenstamm’s synagogue once stood (Lindenufer at the corner of Kammerstraße). The rabbi was mistreated and fled, the place of worship was burned down and demolished by the Nazis.
The State Criminal Police Office is now investigating because the light installation in memory of the “Eternal Light” in the synagogue was destroyed.
מלחמת בני אור בבני חושך is written on the memorial stone at the bottom right, which means “The war of the sons of light against the sons of darkness” (also known as War Rule, Rule of War and the War Scroll, is a manual for military organization and strategy that was discovered among the Dead Sea Scrolls.).
