New York, NY – The NYPD Intelligence & Counterterrorism Bureau released a Memo this week warning of a “Day of Hate” scheduled to take place this Shabbos, calling for anti-Semites across the globe to make their feelings known.
“The NYPD Intelligence & Counterterrorism Bureau recently observed online domestic violent extremist (DVE) messaging announcing a national “Day of Hate,” scheduled to take place on Saturday, 25 February,” the memo reads. “Based on ICB observations of extremist postings online and at least one shared propaganda video on a social media platform, the anonymous online organizers of this overtly racist, anti-Semitic event are instructing likeminded individuals to drop banners, place stickers and flyers, or scrawl graffiti as a form of biased so-called activism.”
While no violence is being called for, the NYPD says that at least one message by organizers requested that participants in the “Day of Hate” photograph or record direct actions and submit them online in order to create “a compendium of exploits from around the country”.
The NYD advised members of the service to maintain elevated situational awareness and vigilance on February 25th for such incidents.
