Germany – Police are looking for a suspect in an antisemitic attack

The Berlin police have released a photo of the suspect, who is said to have insulted and injured Ariel Kirzon (43), state rabbi of the Jewish community in Potsdam, in an antisemitic manner, and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

The attack happened on September 13 at around 10:30 a.m. in Berlin-Mariendorf.

The 43-year-old victim was with his son on the sidewalk at Westphalenweg underground station. According to the police, he was on the phone and speaking Hebrew. The stranger is said to have jostled the man and insulted him antisemitically. The 43-year-old suffered a bruised shoulder.

Then the unknown man is said to have driven away in a line of the U6 in the direction of Tegel. On the way to the subway he was filmed by video cameras. Police are now asking for information about the suspect.
