Vancouver has voted to adopt a definition of antisemitism that many jurisdictions have embraced as well, but some human rights groups have opposed it for fear it could stifle freedom of expression.
The Council voted six to one on Wednesday to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism.

“Essentially, for me, when I distill it, it’s really about education,” Kirby-Yung said before casting her vote.
