Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev apologized for the words of his assistant Alexei Pavlov about the Lubavitcher Hasidim as a sect.
According to Patrushev, Pavlov’s views on the Hasidim do not reflect the views of the Russian Federation in general and the Russian Security Council in particular. In addition, he added that “work has been done” with Pavlov.
“The article by Assistant Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation (…) Pavlov, published in the weekly Arguments and Facts, contained erroneous lines about the Lubavitcher Hasidim. I apologize to the readers of the publication, ”Interfax quotes the text of Patrushev’s letter, received by the editors.
