Germany – Combat antisemitism: additional studies for students studying to become teachers

ZABUS
ZABUS

Certificate antisemitism-critical education for classrooms and schools (Zertifikat Antisemitismuskritische Bildung für Unterricht und Schulen), ZABUS for short, is the name of a new additional course that students studying to become teachers at the University of Würzburg can complete from the coming winter semester.

Current developments in antisemitic incidents and attacks, which are empirically proven by current studies, challenge the humanities disciplines as well as the teaching qualification courses.

As part of ZABUS, student teachers are therefore to be trained in diverse and interdisciplinary approaches to dealing with the subject personally, pedagogically and didactically.

ZABUS can be combined with all variants of the teaching degree as an additional course with a standard period of study of three semesters. You can apply from the second semester onwards. Upon successful completion of all modules, the Faculty of Human Sciences issues a certificate.
