Piraeus, Athens – In Greece, today they are still having trouble digesting the expulsion of Olympiacos from the Champions League after the 4:0 defeat in Piraeus against Maccabi Haifa. Yannis Abiaciotis (Γιάννης Αυλακιώτης), one of the columnists for the Greek SDNA, analyzed the loss in detail in a controversial column, to say the least.

“The prophecy was clear. Olympiacos had 99% to go up, but we have to concentrate on the 1% left. The road is never easy, everything is against them. From UEFA to the Jewish lobby, pay attention to this in the next elimination of Olympiacos by an Israeli team,” he wrote.

“This is a different team than the one that was eliminated twenty years ago against Maccabi Haifa, but no less strong. The judging was not fair and did not leave them a chance, certainly after Bogdan Palanich touched the hand. If they had counted the hand it would have been 4:2 to Maccabi Haifa, if Olympiacos had accepted Penalties were 4:4 and they would have scored the fifth.”

“Don’t work on us,” it says. “We have been watching football for 40 years. The referee was 100% on Maccabi Haifa’s side, 0:1 turned into 0:3 within minutes and Olympiacos did not receive a single whistle. UEFA has no shame,” they concluded.
