Police officers searched buildings in connection with the antisemitic Telegram channel “Jewrassic Liars” in Hamburg, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. As the Hamburg public prosecutor announced, various storage media and a blank gun were provisionally secured on Wednesday. A cannabis cultivation facility and several cannabis plants were also confiscated.
According to the public prosecutor’s office, six suspects, three men and three women between the ages of 39 and 58, are suspected of having disseminated inflammatory statements and content on a large scale as members of the channel, using symbols of unconstitutional organizations and approving crimes directed against Jews.
A suspect living in Hamburg is said to have operated the channel as an administrator. A penalty order was imposed on him in February by the district court of Hamburg-Barmbek on charges of incitement to hatred. According to prosecutors, the Jewrassic Liars telegram channel created in September 2020 at times had more than 1,000 subscribers.
