La Courneuve, Paris – Two offensive and antisemitic tags were discovered this Wednesday morning on a wall at the Joséphine-Baker school in La Courneuve. “Antisemitism!!! Marion the Jew get out!!! Bectos 93120 the revolt 93 mgl” (Antisémithe !!! Marion la Juif dégage !!! Bectos 93120 la révolte 93 mgl) was it notably written in black, spelling errors included. A second graffiti with a person’s first and last name was also inscribed, with an insult in the key.
“I condemn in the strongest terms these calls for antisemitism and racist hatred, which have no place in our city and even less on the walls of our schools”, reacted on Facebook, at the end of the morning Gilles Poux, PCF mayor of La Courneuve.
“The municipality gives its full support to the National Education staff involved and salutes their professional commitment to serving all children.“ It would indeed seem that these tags, as incomprehensible as they are odious, target the teaching teams.
The city has filed a complaint with the La Courneuve police station, “so that this act does not go unpunished”, specifies Gilles Poux.
