Uccle, Brussels – The residents of Ormeaux Avenue in Uccle observed the presence of a tagged “Juif” (Jew) inscription, painted black, on a wall, near a dental office.
The identities of the people living there were also tagged, with the exception of one, probably left as a way to recall what happened before and during WWII in Nazi Germany.
The inscription “Juif” has since been deleted. But the mayor of Uccle has been informed. Mr. Boris Dilliès was on the spot on Monday late afternoon.
Joël Rubinfeld of the Belgian League against antisemitism has also been advised. “The same inscriptions, he reacted Monday, were inflicted on the windows of Jewish-owned shops during WWII.”
Already at the end of December, a similar inscription had been tagged on the roadway of Avenue Château de Walzin. It was written, also in black paint, “Jew = Nazi”. This took place on December 21, 2021 and we can observe, by comparing them, that the writer wrote the “J” exactly the same way as Saturday at avenue des Ormeaux.
