Wickede, Dortmund – The sign commemorating the Holocaust on Levi-Cohen-Platz in Wickede was torn down again. This is announced by the Wickeder SPD district representative Dirk Sanke.

Since this is an anti-Semitic action, he believes that state security should become active. In the same way, the memorial to the murdered Wickeder families on Levi-Cohen-Platz is misused as a meeting place for young people for drinking bouts. Then there is rubbish, broken bottles, and the commemorative plaque is destroyed by stupid sayings and scratches, Dirk Sanke continues.

The renovation of the monument was already decided by the Brackel district council on the initiative of the SPD parliamentary group. Sanke: “Continuous control of the place would be desirable.”

Police spokesman Maik Müller says that the police have looked at the damage. A report has been made and it goes to state security, which then has to decide how to deal with it. However, it is difficult to assume a right-wing extremist background, since this is the first recorded incident at Levi-Cohen-Platz. Anyone who knows more about this or makes similar observations should contact the police.
