Cherry Hill, NJ – The Katz Jewish Community Center (JCC) on Springdale Road in Cherry Hill was evacuated on Tuesday morning on reports of a bomb threat in the building.
The Cherry Hill Police Department responded to the JCC at about 8:40AM and was assisted by federal agents from the FBI and several K-9 units from the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department. The building was self-evacuated and swept for explosives, with “negative results”, according to the Cherry Hill Police Department.
The JCC is scheduled to reopen at 5:00PM on Tuesday evening.

“The Cherry Hill Police Department commends the JCC staff for their response and assistance and appreciates the cooperation of local residents and parents that were on location,” said the Cherry Hill Police in a statement.
The incident remains under investigation.
