The police have registered 609 antisemitic crimes nationwide in connection with the pandemic in the past two years. In most cases it was about incitement to hatred, as can be seen from a response from the federal government to a question from Left-wing MP Martina Renner. Violence was used in three cases.

According to the information, the police identified a total of 329 suspects. According to the information, one in ten of them was noticed at a demonstration against corona measures. The Federal Ministry of the Interior pointed out that the figures for 2021 are still provisional due to possible late registrations.

“Propaganda and actions by pandemic deniers multiply and amplify everyday antisemitism and pose a serious threat to Jews and democracy as a whole,” said Renner. The police must finally deal with anti-Semitic crimes in connection with the demonstrations uniformly and consistently nationwide .

According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, four suspects have been identified in Berlin in the past two years for antisemitic crimes during corona demonstrations, in Bavaria there were nine suspects, in Baden-Württemberg and Saxony six suspects each. In North Rhine-Westphalia, no suspects of antisemitic crimes were identified in connection with corona demonstrations in 2020 and 2021.
