Research: “We are generation terror!”: Youth‑on‑youth radicalisation in Extreme‑right youth groups

New research published by CST and ICSR Centre finds that young extreme-right activists recruit and radicalise each other to racist worldviews.

In recent months there has been an alarming number of kids and teenagers charged with terrorism offences for involvement in the extreme right. While this is in part a result of online grooming by older individuals, the role played by the youth in recruiting other young people into extremism has largely been ignored.
“We are Generation terror!” Youth-on-youth radicalisation in extreme-right youth groups explores this phenomenon of youth-on-youth radicalisation by analysing the ways 10 racial nationalist groups run by young people in Western Europe recruit other teenagers into their movement.
