Germany – Sculpture in honor of Jewish athletes destroyed

Nordhausen – Strangers destroyed a sculpture that was supposed to honor a Jewish athlete.

The figure was part of the traveling exhibition “Between Success and Persecution. Jewish stars in German sport until 1933 and after ”and dedicated to the basketball player Ralph Klein.
The police are investigating.
At the center of the show are 17 German-Jewish athletes who, as national players, world and European champions or Olympic champions, were among the celebrated idols of their time. Quite a few of them were deported and murdered.
