Posters denouncing antisemitism vandalized in Brussels

Brussels – Several young Jews had stuck, at the call of the UEJB (Union of Jewish Students of Belgium), posters denouncing ” the accumulation of murders and attempted murders antisemitic in Europe and the United States in recent years ” .

The next day, several posters were vandalized. This poster campaign, carried out in several districts of the Grand Place in the European Quarter, was part of a rally in front of the French embassy to contest the lack of trial after the murder of Sarah Halimi, beaten and defenestrated. in France in 2017.
The following phrase appeared on the posters: “Since the antisemitic murder of Sarah Halimi, at least 15 people have been killed because they were Jews in Europe and the United States”. 
The UEJB noted the day after this action that several posters had been vandalized: the terms “antisemitic” and “because Jewish” were withdrawn. “Confirming our fears, we noticed the vandalization of certain posters the day after the collage. The terms “antisemitic” and “because Jewish” having been meticulously removed, the sentence that can now be read on these posters is as follows: “Since the murder of Sarah Halimi, at least 15 people have been killed in Europe and in the States. -United”.
Later on, The torn posters have been put up again.
