The number of antisemitic attacks in Cologne and the surrounding area has been increasing for years. Since this week, such incidents can be reported online to the NS-DOK (the NS Documentation Center) of the city of Cologne. A new reporting and advice center for antisemitic incidents was opened there as part of its specialist unit . In future, all those affected, relatives and witnesses of antisemitic incidents in the city will be able to present them on the specially set up website www.antisemitismus-melden.koeln .
The aim is not only to advise victims, but also to get a more detailed overview of how widespread hostility towards Jews actually is. The homepage and the registration form are available in German, English and Russian. Antisemitic crimes such as denial of the Holocaust, physical attacks or assaults as well as non-criminal acts can be reported.
