In 2018, 57 hate crimes against Christians, 29 against Muslims and 8 cases of anti-Semitism were recorded in Spain , according to a report by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
Data just released by the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the OSCE on the occasion of the celebration last Saturday of the Day of Tolerance, and which has been reported in a statement by the Observatory for Religious Freedom (OLRC).
In its hate crime report, the OLRC continually underlines the fact that the vast majority of bias-motivated crimes are not reported . Many victims do not go to the police because they doubt that the authorities will take action, while others fear the lengthy legal proceedings.
