St Albans – Police are investigating what appears to be a case of sick Antidemitism, when a Jewish family was spending day out in St Albans.

A video filmed by one of the victims shows Adam Cassidy, 19,  approach the family unprovoked, and calls them “dirty Jews”. He then proceeds to kick an advertising board towards them.

Michael, 30, was out with his two children, aged one and three, his wife, brother and sister-in-law and their one-year-old baby when the stranger approached.

According to Michael, Cassidy initially shoved the carriage holding his baby nephew. He then kicked a nearby advertising board at Michael before walking off.

“This man shoved the pram which my one-year-old nephew was in. My brother-in-law asked: ‘Why did you do that?’ He said: ‘It’s because you are a dirty Jew.’

“I took out my camera and asked him to repeat it as I was filming. He said the same thing and kicked some of the coffee shop’s hoardings into me.”

Michael continued: “It was very unpleasant. Very shocking. It puts you on edge.

“We stayed there for another 20 minutes. But the whole time we were there, I was keeping a lookout in case he came back. But we didn’t let him ruin our Sunday.

Hertfordshire Police have confirmed that this case is being investigating as racially aggravated assault.
