Bamberg – for months, slogans such as “Do not buy from Jews,” swastikas and double Sig-Runes, have been discovered in public buildings and on roads inside the city.
The slogan “Do not buy from Jews” was seen six months on the wall of a bridge. Meanwhile, the word “Jews” was sprayed and later replaced by the word “Nazis”. Those graffiti has already been erased but an antisemitic caricature can still be seen on a public road. For many years, many Jews have had to pass and see those graffiti on their way to the synagogue.
The caricature, is a profile picture with classic anti-Semitic elements: a snub nose and hanging ears, frizzy hair, a wicked grin, large distorted eyes, and a head covering that resembles a skullcap.
