Labour Against Antisemitism (LAAS) delivered a 15,000 page digital dossier to the Equality and Human Rights Commission, which is considering opening a full investigation into the allegations. The group, which says its mission is to turn Labour into “a safe place for Jewish people by eradicating antisemitic abuse from within the party”, spent two years working on the file.

LAAS spokesman Euan Philipps criticised the party’s response to complaints of Jew-hatred, calling it “shocking and alarming”.
He said: “Over the last two years, our team of dedicated volunteers has systematically collected and detailed evidence of Labour Party members promoting antisemitic views and tropes across a range of social media platforms.

“This has all been reported to the party’s compliance team, in a format suggested by them and including a significant level of detail. “Most distressing of all, reports containing the most appalling levels of racism have been given only the lightest reprimand.”
He told : “The message again and again has been the same: we don’t care about this issue.”

The damning dossier comes after the Labour leader was openly criticised for his handling of antisemitism by one of his shadow cabinet minister.

Baroness Thornton, shadow health minister, said her daughter Ruby, 30, had walked away from the party in “disgust” having campaigned on Labour’s behalf for the past 18 years.

Baroness Thornton wrote on Twitter: “Well done @jeremycorbyn – the teenager who canvassed with you and for you in 2005 and who voted for you, has left the party in disgust at your failure to deliver party policy on Brexit and deal with antisemitism”.
“My daughter along with many others – heartbroken.”

She later added: “Sorry first canvas team was 2001 GE which sort of makes it worse.”
A spokesman for Labour said: “This has not been submitted to the party so we cannot establish whether or not these relate to party members.”
