Oxford– Opponents have demanded the resignation of a Labour city councillor who shared Facebook posts comparing Israel to Nazi Germany and referring to welfare as a reward for laziness.
Last week the Oxford Mail reported how Ben Lloyd-Shogbesan’s posts had been brought to the attention of council leader Susan Brown just hours before he was re-elected.
The council leader said they were ‘extremely disappointing’ posts but they were not made public.
However, the content of the posts have now been revealed and include criticisms of ‘multiculturalism’ and gay marriage.
In one, he shared a black and white picture showing a small boy with his hands up, a Nazi guard behind him holding a gun. To its right, a colour picture is attached showing a small boy facing an armed soldier.
The two are captioned together: “A picture worth a thousand words: on the left: Nazi Germany. On the right: Apartheid Israel.”
Leaders of all other major parties in Oxford have called on Mr Lloyd-Shogbesan to resign or be sacked.

בשבוע שעבר פרסם אוקספורד מייל איך הפוסטים של Ben-Lloyd Shogbesan הובאו לידיעת סוזן בראון (Susan Brown), שעות ספורות לפני שהוא נבחר מחדש.
יו”ר המועצה אמרה שההודעות היו “מאכזבות מאד” אבל הן לא פורסמו.
אך בימים אלו פורסמו ההודעות אשר כוללות ביקורת נגד “רב תרבותיות” ונישואין בין בני אותו מין.
באחד הפוסטים הוא פרסם תמונה בשחור לבן ובה ילד קטן שעומד עם ידיים מורמות בעוד שומר נאצי מחזיק נשק, עומד מאחוריו. בצד ימין שלו הודבקה תמונה בצבע המראה ילד קטן שעומד מול חייל.
מעל לשתי התמונות כתוב: “תמונה שווה אלף מילים: בתמונה בצד שמאל אתם רואים את גרמניה הנאצית ובצד ימין את האפרטהייד בישראל”.
מנהיגים של מפלגות אחרות באוקספורד ביקשו כי Lloyd-Shogbesan יפוטר או יתפטר בעצמו.
