109 new antisemitic incidents in Italy in 2017: 60 connected to the Internet; 20 reports on graffiti and graphics; 15 defamation acts and insults; 11 insults and various vandalism acts. “Osservatorio antisemitismo” of the “Center for Contemporary Jewish Documentation” published those latest data (Cdec).
The Osservatorio antisemitismo analyzed 210 profiles (160 personal profiles and 50 groups) and received 2635 posts from social networks – 243 from bk (Russian Facebook) and 2392 from Facebook. “The words used are very violent, we are talking about posts with very offensive pictures and articles, cynical jokes about the Holocausr and Anna Frank”.
But we know very well that on Internet you can find everything, even under the guise of irony and fake forms of humor. “In 2017, the Osservatorio found 330 sites, 130 of which were promoted by traditional neo-Nazis and Catholics from the far right; 110 represented conspiracy concepts, 70 were anti-Zionist and 20 were about Holocaust denial.
