Prague – An anonymous letter was sent to the municipal authority in Prague last week, which contains crude antisemitic rhetoric. The city’s mayor, Adriana Krnáčová, posted it in her Twitter account. “And such people live among us … sad and at the same time also crazy, it’s a shame that that person did not sign his name” Karnachova further commented on this issue.
At the same time, she demanded of town’s officials to hand over the letter to the police for interrogation on her behalf. However, the letter arrived by mail, meaning that the perpetrator’s identity would probably never be discovered. “We will probably file a criminal complaint on Friday” the city’s spokesman, Witt Hoffman, told a daily newspaper in Prague.
“No public funds will pay for the post shipment… as for a memorial to be set up to commemorate the Holocaust that never happened …” this is some of what was written anonymously in a letter full of hatred, implicitly referencing to the project “Memorial for the Silent”, which will commemorate the transports of Jews deported from the Praha-Bubny railway station in Prague.
I takoví jsou mezi námi… Smutné a zároveň šílené. Škoda, že se ten člověk nepodepsal pic.twitter.com/u0Np9OEdnA
