Malmo
– The synagogue of the city of Malmo in southern Sweden had one of its windows
shattered when unidentified vandals hurled stones at it.
The
incident occurred earlier this month but was reported in Swedish media Tuesday,
after police arrived at the building on Monday night because of a separate
incident, which turned out to be a false alarm.
Fredrik
Sieradzki, a spokesperson for the local Jewish community, told the TT news
agency that the earlier incident happened on Oct. 7 and that it is not yet
clear whether it was a hate crime targeting the congregation.
