The number of antisemitic crimes in the German state of Bavaria remained high in the first half of 2017. This was confirmed by preliminary results of the Bavarian State Criminal Investigation Office, which were shared by the Ministry of the Interior at the request of the SPD party of the Bavarian State Parliament.
Thus, 62 antisemitic crimes were committed in Bavaria in the first half of the year, of which 61 were motivated by far right-wing ideology and one by an ideology stemming from another country (mass incitement). The extreme right-wing crimes include offenses ranging from incitement (36 incidents), vandalism (12 incidents), propaganda (7 incidents) and other offenses. Whereas in 2015 a total of 132 anti-Semitic crimes were recorded in the Bavarian state, the number of incidents rose to 167 during this past year (2016).
