Antisemitic graffiti alluding to football

Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin – on February 27, Antisemitic graffiti was discovered in the advertising area of a supermarket in Prenzlauer Berg. The graffiti contained the words „Jews…“ (illegible) and „FCU Jew“, wording that alludes to to the German association football club – Fußballclub Union Berlin. In addition, the words “WSEE Hool” and “WSEE BSC HERTHA” were written on the supermarket’s billboard.

Antisemites employ the term „Jew“ also when refering to Non-Jewish persons and institutions in order to humiliate and degrade them. In the context of football, this is the kind of everyday antisemitic language that is frequently used to describe and ridicule opposing teams and their fans.
