Potomac,
MD – An investigation is underway after a student received an antisemitic
text message at a Montgomery County high school.
Teachers
and parents of students at Winston Churchill High School received a letter
Tuesday informing them of what happened on March 2.
Montgomery
County police spokesman Officer Rick Goodale says a student whose class was in
the midst of studying the Holocaust received the text.
Principal
Joan Benz said in a message to the Churchill community that it was sent via an
app that allows users to send messages using a fake phone number.
Benz
says such hurtful comments will not be tolerated. The school is investigating.
