Man admits placing racist slogans on synagogue

A man who admitted sticking antisemitic slogans on a
Cambridge synagogue has been given a community and restraining order.

 

Kristian Omilian, 30, of Perse Way, Cambridge, was caught
on CCTV putting the stickers on the front of the synagogue in Auckland Road, in
November last year. His fingerprints were also found on the stickers.

 

He was given a 12-month community order at Cambridge
Magistrates Court, for which he has to attend up to 15 days of rehabilitation
activity and 120 hours’ unpaid work.

 

He also received a two year restraining order instructing
him not to go within 100 yards of the synagogues in Thompsons Lane and in
Auckland Road, Cambridge and to pay a victim surcharge and court costs.
