Antisemitic fliers found at Burlington council meeting

Burlington,
VT
– Several antisemitic fliers were found on seats reserved for the public
during Monday night’s City Council meeting in Burlington.

The
fliers refer to white Christian genocide and talk about Mayor Miro Weinberger’s
“Jewish demolition team” agenda. The document calls Vermont a
Christian community until a “2011 takeover.”

Weinberger
is out of the country on a family vacation. His chief of staff, Brian Lowe, was
in attendance at the meeting but said he was unsure who had left the fliers.

Former
City Council member Ed Adrian posted about the fliers on social media and said
his 10-year-old son, Henry, was the first to find one.

“I don’t think it’s indicative of who
we are as a City and I hope whoever wrote it can come forward so we can have a
discussion,” Adrian wrote in a message to the Burlington Free Press. He
added that the incident could be a learning moment for his son.

After
the meeting, Council President Jane Knodell said council members have received
similar material before, but are uncertain who is behind it.

“We can speak out against it,”
she said.
