Iqbal pleaded guilty and was given a suspended sentence today of 16 weeks’
imprisonment and 80 hours’ unpaid work after
making antisemitic death threats in September.
The
incident took place on 11th September, when Iqbal shouted “I’m going to kill
you, I’m going to kill all of you Jews — you killed my brothers” at a Jewish
motorist. Volunteers from Shomrim, the Jewish neighbourhood watch patrol,
followed Iqbal’s car until officers from the Metropolitan Police Service arrived
to arrest him. Once again, Shomrim’s vigilance and swift action has secured the
arrest and conviction of a brazen antisemite.
