Tucson man gets 10 years in state prison for chemical attack

A
Tucson man has been sentenced to 10 years in state prison after being found
guilty of a chemical bomb attack.

Todd
Russell Fries was sentenced Monday on two counts of attempted murder and 22
other state charges, including arson and kidnapping. He is already serving time
in federal prison for convictions in the same case.

The
former Burns Power Washing owner placed burning chemicals and an explosive devise
outside a customer’s home in 2009. Prosecutors say the fire caused a mile-wide
chlorine plume to spread across the neighborhood.

Prosecutors
say Fries also spray-painted racial slurs on the couples’ home and placed a
dead coyote on their driveway.

Prosecutors
say police found revenge manuals in Fries’ home.

His
term in state prison will begin after he completes his federal sentence.
