Fairport lacrosse players reportedly used antisemitic language in game against Brighton

Fairport, Perinton,
NY
 – District
officials at Fairport and Brighton schools are investigating reports of racial
slurs being used by lacrosse players at a Tuesday night game between the two
schools.

 

“We are investigating a situation that
occurred at our boys lacrosse game to fully understand what transpired… he
went on to say, If allegations are accurate, we will enforce our District’s
Code of Conduct and Extracurricular Eligibility Standards while using this
unfortunate situation as a learning opportunity,” said Fairport
Superintendent Brett Provenzano.

 

Brighton
Superintendent, Dr. Kevin McGowan responded saying, “Hateful speech of any
kind has no place in society much less in interscholastic activities. We know
this perspective is shared by our colleagues. It is our understanding that the
issue is being investigated and followed up on expeditiously. We appreciate
their responsiveness as well.”
