Refused to let a Jewish woman in Berlin to sit down on the light train (S-Bahn) seat

Berlin
– on April 6, at the early evening hours, a Jewish woman that was looking for a
place to sit in the light train (S-Bahn – line 5 in Charlottenburgh
(Pichelsberg)) was met with stiff opposition of two young women, after they had
noticed the Star of David on her chain.

One
of the women purposely placed her handbag on the empty seat next to her, when
the victim wanted to sit there. The other one laughed, hitting her thigh triumphantly
with her hand, and then she became
serious again and did the same as her friend. The victim who became
frightened, ran to the other side of the car. The two delinquents  continued looking at her and reacted to her
moving away with hostile expressions. The passengers who were sitting close by
ignored what was happening, and looked down at the floor or out the window.

The
victim also told us that she has been experiencing negative incidents of this
type whenever she openly  wears the Star
of David. In order to avoid hostility, she usually tries to cover her Star of
David with a scarf. That day she forgot to do it.
